Dante

The younger of the twins, Dante is everyone's favorite immature, macho, attention-seeking, trash-talking, showoff devil hunter. His neverending devil hunt is fueled by his wish to avenge his mother and brother's deaths at the hands of devil.

Being the hero, Dante is the main character of all 3 games of the series.

Dante also appears in the Devil May Cry manga, where he can be seen talking trash and destroying things, faithful to himself.

Vergil

Vergil is the smart twin. Cold, rational, he honed his skills to perfection is his quest for ultimate power. When he wants to, however, he is a showoff as much as Dante is. He is just less vocal about it. Vergil attempted to tear open a passage between Earth and Hell to claim his father's powers as his.

Vergil appears in Devil May Cry 1 as Nelo Angelo, and again in Devil May Cry 3 as Dante's antagonist.

Vergil also appears in the Devil May Cry manga, again as Dante's antagonist. He is much more colder and psychopathic in the manga than he is in the game, though; he can be seen killing several people for no apparent reason, other than showing off the size of his dick his heartlessness.

Love?

The relationship between the twins is complicated, to say the least, both in the game and in the manga. A mix of brotherly love, sibling rivalry, and philosophical differences holds them close and tears them apart at the same time, for they are both diametrically opposed and completely alike. In the manga, one of the devils even implies – although it could have been a lie aimed at destabilizing Vergil – that the twins need each other to be complete.
